AT A GLANCE

Appearance: Small-shouldered yet athletic, Cooper is a slender man with a pale complexion and dark, delicate features including hazel eyes and perpetually slicked-back black hair, standing at about 6'0. He's almost never seen out of uniform — black suit and dress pants, white collared dress shirt, black tie — and usually wears some variation thereof even when he's not actively working. Other than that, he seems to favor flannel for...some reason.
Voice: Boom.
Magical Information/Scent: Cooper is very attuned to the spirit world. Although the show and expanded universe never explicitly throw the word psychic around, it's pretty clear that he's some sort of empath with a degree of ESP that heightens his intuition and gives him the ability to form psychic bonds with others as well as receive prophetic visions through his dreams. He also seems to have a psychic link to the Black Lodge, an otherworldly dimension populated by spirits that literally feed off suffering and despair. Beyond that, he's human and probably reads as gifted pretty easily to stronger psychics.

Violence: lbr, he's an FBI agent, he can handle himself. Message me so we can hash something out, but pretty much anything is on the table unless it leads to an injury that could change the way I play him long term.
Killing: Ask first. I'd like to avoid this when possible but I'm not completely against it.
Mind Reading: Go for it! See the above section on magical info for details on Cooper's own psychic abilities, and feel free to ask me to clarify information in my tags that your character should be able to pick up on.

OPT IN AND OUT

As already mentioned, Cooper is psychic. He can see bits of the future and communicate with otherworldly forces through his dreams, and he's able to create empathic links with others, even complete strangers, which is implied to be why he's able to intuitively read people so well. Fire Walk With Me gives a good display of how both work; he has a vision of a long lost agent's return and the subsequent supernatural events that follow, and he knows who Laura Palmer is long before he's ever heard of her and has a rough picture of her situation gleamed entirely through feeling ("She's a woman, blonde. She's in high school, she's sexually active, she's using drugs. She's crying out for help.") and even knows what she's doing at that very moment. By his own admission, he considers himself to be "a strong sender" when it comes to people with similar abilities, even initially declining to take part in a police sketch because he doesn't want to influence the woman giving the description.

Should any of this ever come up in our threads, I will always refer to your own permissions for your character before letting Coop do his spooky thing. He isn't powerful or trained by a long shot — he can't read minds and he doesn't have the power to know absolutely everything about a person or their future just by looking at them or thinking super hard. At most, he's just very psychically open and has supernaturally honed intuition when it comes to people and their emotions, and his premonitions tend to be cryptic and borderline nonsensical. If there's ever a chance for him to foresee events surrounding him and your character, it will always be hashed out beforehand and within reason.
